Overview

Whiteflare is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to support the AJAX Production team within the Land Combat Vehicles portfolio. This role focuses on safety assurance for vehicle production, with particular responsibility for managing safety-related concessions and supporting design modifications.

Working alongside MOD, engineering and project stakeholders, you will help ensure that safety risks are assessed, controlled and documented in line with programme requirements and relevant standards

Specific job skills

  • Manage safety-related concessions, ensuring requests are assessed, documented and approved appropriately.
  • Review the safety implications of design modifications and provide engineering input to maintain compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Coordinate with the wider safety function to align concession activity with safety policy and risk-management arrangements.
  • Deputise for the Concessions Engineer when required, maintaining continuity of concession-management activity.
  • Liaise with engineering and project teams to resolve safety issues efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of concessions, safety assessments and approvals.
  • Support safety procedures, best practice, audits, reviews and reporting.


Essential skills and experience

  • As a minimum be professionally registered as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
  • Proven experience in providing technical advice and leading the delivery of successful safety systems.

Desired skills and experience

  • A formal safety qualification and/or training.
  • Experience within an Engineering Production Environment is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience managing engineering safety activity within a Defence Major Program (GMPP/CAT A) is desirable.
