Overview

Working within MOD Delivery Teams, you will assure mechanical and automotive engineering activity across early demonstrator, qualification, range and accuracy, and series-production contracts for 72 platforms. You will identify and manage technical and safety risks; review and authorise contractor technical data; ensure compliance with MOD policy and system requirements; and lead scrutiny of system test, verification, validation and evaluation evidence.

Specific job skills

  • Assess technical hazards, project impacts and risk-reduction measures, maintaining clear technical-risk evidence.
  • Review contractor engineering deliverables, technical publications and V&V data; identify non-compliances and drive them through to closure.
  • Support system testing, verification, validation and evaluation, including technical reporting following trials.
  • Contribute to assurance, audit, safety panels, hazard-log working groups and formal technical reviews.
  • Provide technical input to legalisation assessments, legislation exemption activity and meetings with the OEM.


Essential skills and experience

  • Strong knowledge or experience of military land vehicles and associated systems.
  • Proven capability in mechanical/automotive engineering assurance, systems safety, technical governance and contractor management.
  • Experience working with complex defence equipment programmes, test and trials, and engineering documentation.


Desired skills and experience

  • Knowledge or experience of current MoD Procurement Systems Engineering and processes.
