Overview

In support of the AUKUS Programme Whole Boat Integration (Crewing Advice) Team there is a requirement for technical support in maturing the Basic Crewing Solution (BCS) and Watch & Station Bill (W&SB) to influence and drive out design uncertainty by supporting Crewing decision making for the Through Life Support and At Sea In-Service life cycle.

The role will provide technical expertise, through engagement with stakeholders (Including BAE Systems, Babcock, Rolls Royce and Royal Navy), to mature the SSN AUKUS BCS and W&SB.


Specific job skills

  • Development and management of the Basic Crewing Requirement and Watch and Station Bill.
  • Provide technical recommendations to decision makers.
  • System reviews to provide assurance requirements and Design Specification are being followed.
  • Generation of weekly and monthly written and/or verbal reports to decision makers.


Essential skills and experience

This role requires a previously qualified SSN Submariner with experience of allocation and maintenance of the BCS and W&SB watchkeeping requirement; Alongside and Operational roles At Sea. Ideally, a candidate with previous experience as a SSN Coxswain, Officer of the Watch (OOW) or Officer of the Day (OOD).

Desired skills and experience

  • Previous experience in supporting the CADMID cycle in a design and build environment.
  • Ability to engage with decision makersand develop trustworthy working relationships.
