Career Highlights:

  • As COO for the Employment & Skills Group (ESG), maintained profitability through careful management of the £12m work programme whilst growing by 5 new locations (£300k under budget). Implemented 2 new skills programmes and developed propositions for delivering training to the unemployed to the contract value of £6m over 3 years.
  • As a bid consultant in the education sector in Malaysia, secured a £35m contract through rework of proposals and pricing models. Improved performance and introduced a sustainable growth policy through root analysis of an underperforming contract.
  • As part of the senior leadership team of the PE back group, re-organised and implemented strategy resulting in improved contract win rates in BPN from 1 in 5 to 1 in 3 and savings of 20% across the £2m school administration budgets.
  • As Managing Director, restructured the Education & Children’s Services consultancy and training business for Serco. Successfully converted £130k loss to £71k profit within 6 months and added a further £3m sales pipeline. Also managed and led the business turnaround of a government outsources contract from £230k loss into profit within 12 months.
  • Exceeded Serco expectations with business development wins in excess of £500m in defence, education and health sectors.
  • Successfully managed the transition of PFI and acquisitions involving the TUPE transfer of over 4000 staff.


Experience: Has held various senior roles with budgets of up to £40m. Knowledgeable in Financial Planning & Reporting, Process Development, and Programme Management to Resource Management & Utilisation. Has experience in complex financial and technical requirements of both public and private sector companies and social policy agendas backed up with strong written and verbal communication skills.
