Managed and developed global sales operations within European and Middle East Airlines. Has successfully led multinational, regional and country sales teams in airline leisure and business segments. Has gained Global Distribution System expertise from both provider and contract owner perspectives as well as supply chain management knowledge and capability in airline catering and retail services.

Career Highlights:

  • Delivered the first new BA contract to DHL in the last 3 years - 10 daily long-haul flights
  • Set up the new commercial region within the Qatar Airways organisation based in Doha, implemented and launched 2 new routes, delivered above budget yield improvement of + 12.3% and achieved above budget revenue performance of + 1.6% across the region
  • Drove the highest level of internet sales penetration on the Qatar Airways network (23%) and established Poland as the highest market for on-line penetration (25%) in the first year
  • Contracted Spanair's first global agent agreement with Expedia generating $8m revenue per annum, established independent distribution in the Nordic markets that secured €40m revenue per annum and initiated sales with STA, a global student travel agent to target $.5m per annum
  • As Head of Sales for Etihad Airways contracted the first global agreements for a Middle East airline with Expedia & Amex MTSI and secured regional agreements with DNATA, BCD and American Express Travel agencies
  • Drove the STA global student travel programme to deliver revenue of $11m in 2009 and set up and managed off-line sales, 48 markets and 10 providers (GSAs) generating $30m revenue
  • As Regional General Manager of Etihad Airways (MEA) covered12 countries, $180m revenue target, AED 5m expenditure budget, 100 employees and 90 aircraft movements per week

Experience: Extensive international experience in senior airline and travel industry commercial roles. Experienced in managing and optimising regional airline cargo and mail operations as well as designing and developing sales systems and programmes and processes to deliver change. Managerial responsibility of 180 employees, $180m revenue target and expenditure budgets of EUR30m.
