Specialist skills include advisory and implementation consultancy services in the sector of housing, turning around failing projects, negotiating contractual requirements and development and implementation of change management plans.

Career Highlights:

  • Raised the quality of private rented accommodation in the London Borough of Lewisham whilst working towards a £2m revenue budget over 5 years by scoping, planning and implementing the additional HMO licensing scheme

  • Redesigned Slough Borough Council’s commissioning and procurement programme for several key services. This allowed for extensive market testing and internal review to establish the best offer to take to market. Influenced and negotiated successfully with the Mayor, Cabinet and senior executives the extension of their current provision

  • Configured the governance arrangements and set clear lines of accountability for several projects forming the above 2 ½ year programme to ensure the overall programme was properly scrutinised and managed within time, budget, and quality tolerances

  • Re-envisaged and inspired the renegotiation of the failing £4.4m annual contract (30-year deal) between Middlesex University and Viridian Housing with the effect of ceasing contract penalties and generating a surplus in the contract more than £1.5m pa.

  • Project managed and won £1.4m Met police contract for accommodation of officers during the Olympics 2012 and led on renegotiations of extending provision mid contract

  • Lead on developing a new maintenance lifecycle (value circa £45M) programme, including tendering and procuring professionals. Negotiated with banks and lawyers on behalf of the Middlesex University contract making it possible to deliver the lifecycle programme realistically, consistently and within a newly agreed budget

  • Conceived, Project Managed, and hosted the first Viridian Housing Staff conference for 850 colleagues who were geographically dispersed across the country

  • Led on the development of teams of property and team managers to empower and engage them to take responsibility for delivering customer facing services whilst setting and managing their own budgets totalling circa £30m
