Strategy Director, Business Transformation Director
An experienced strategist and business transformation consultant in both project and line based roles from high value complex programmes (£1.6bn) to short term assignments. Key skills in visioning, transformation planning, investment cases, programme plans, benefits realisation plans, stakeholder engagement, change management, process re-engineering and associated governance in response to customer requirements in the public and private sectors.
Headed up the Defence & Security strategy for BT Global Services and subsequently formed the Public Sector & Health Strategy team managing a business of £1.6bn pa. Delivered strategy development and implementation, development/improvement of customer relationships, partnerships, proposition development, governance and management of a variety of major programmes in the earliest stages of the life-cycle
Created and maintained the five-year Global Government & Health Strategy and the associated plans for realisation through customer facing units, marketing and proposition development teams, including governance and reporting
Positioned BT as a credible contender on several major programme opportunities in the early stages of the business development e.g. CORTISONE, the replacement of Defence Medical Services systems and capabilities
Delivered a five-year strategy and plans to return to growth, linking strategic vision and objectives to transformation themes and programme deliverables, an approach endorsed by the Global Services CEO. Maintained and supported the implementation of those plans through the creation of a programme plan with associated activities across all sub-sectors, ownership of the realisation of new propositions in support of growth and establishment of a Change Board to manage the transformation programme
Developed the case for the Global Defence business (agreed by the President of Global Government) building on UK credibility, starting with the US market and moving to NATO and beyond, based on market signals
Led a cross industry group (BT, Atlas Consortium and Paradigm) to present proposals for improved collaboration between the customer's extant ICT suppliers to better position BT and other industry members for the replacement procurement. Unblocked the delivery of secure mobility that had previously been stalled for over three years due to lack of co-operation between all parties
Experience: Extensive experience of long and short term business transformation programmes in advisory, design and implementation roles. Helped develop BT's business transformation approach and went on to lead BT's Transformation Design and Implementation capability groups.
